The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst performs functions related to code quality. On the front end of the Software Development Lifecycle, the Sr. QA Analyst is responsible for testing all code that is developed by Talisys before it is released to clients, subject to executive management approved exceptions. The Sr. Sr. QA Analyst’s primary testing responsibility is to create regression test scripts and to regression test all code that is released to Talisys clients, but will also assist with other types of testing. The Sr. QA Analyst is required to attain an in-depth knowledge of Talisys products and work closely with Talisys Product and Engineering teams to ensure Talisys code is of the highest quality before being released to clients. The Sr. QA Analyst position also requires a working knowledge of the securities industry in order to adequately test code.

 

Testing Duties

  • Run utilities to simulate stock brokerage trade activity.

  • Verify that test systems are operational and monitor system health and status. Follow process to address all issues.

  • Has an in-depth understanding of core Talisys business process with a specialty in one more Product areas as well as the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of which software testing is an integral component.

  • Help to define, develop, implement, and maintain regression testing best practices and procedures, test plans, and other quality assessments.

  • Regression test code for assigned teams, following Talisys procedures and best practices.

  • Create regression test scripts for assigned projects. Work with the Director of Testing Automation to develop automated test scripts when possible.

  • Identify the characteristics and data sets required to test project code.

  • Participate in other aspects of testing, including functional, integration, and system testing.

  • Manage and, if required, escalate issues that impede the test effort to the CE Manager.

  • Act as a consultant to project teams on quality methods, processes, and tools.

  • Work collaboratively with development and business analysis during all stages of the project to ensure accurate testing and results.

  • Mentor junior QA Analysts on testing duties.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience.

  • Experience working in the securities industry preferred.

  • 3 – 5 years Quality Assurance experience required.

  • Automated testing experience preferred but not essential.

  • Experience delivering support within a Software Development company preferred but not essential.

  • Proficient in Microsoft® Office.

  • Knowledge of SQL database. Working knowledge of SQL required.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills; effective team player.

Essential duties are performed in a general office work environment and regularly require eight (8) or more hours of sitting at a work station/desk while completing paperwork or using computers, calculators, copiers, fax machines and other business office machines and equipment. duties may also involve: occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, walking, crouching, stooping and lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store supplies or various office equipment, as directed. Compliance to security and safety procedures, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is required.
